The importance and benefits of seasonal fruits.
Dr. pradeep prahlad(Bhopal) : Earlier people used to eat fruits for taste but now days people eat fruits due to their anti oxidant and nutritional value.Today I would like to tell you in this blog, what is the different scientific advantage of each fruit?
Mangoes... besides beta-carotene and Vitamin A, which improve the eyesight, mangoes contain quercetin and ficetin which help to prevent cancer of the colon, breast and prostate.... Mangoes also keep the skin clean from inside and give it a glow.
The high fiber in this fruit Vitamin C and Pectin keep our cholesterol level low. In summers this fruit cools down and prevent heat stroke
Plums are one of the fruits richest in antioxidants....they contain anthocyanins which are cancer fighting nutrients. In addition they have vitamin A,vitamin C,zinc and potassium which help in boosting immunity and digestion.
Plums and their dried derivative prunes ,add glow to the skin and make us look younger.
Orange these are rich in vitamin C, thiamine, folate and fibre which lower the risk of heart disease and stroke. Citrus fruit also help in giving the skin a glow and removing tan and sunburn.
Black grapes and red grapes have the powerful antioxidant proanthocyanidin in them. Jamun( Indian BlackBerry) and grapes Seed also have this. Proanthocyanidin a condensed tannin , is a powerful cancer-fighting substance. It is also cardio protective, neuro protective and increases the body's immunity. It also helps to make the skin look younger.
Apples contain Pectin, potassium, Vitamin C and specially iron which help treat anemia .Apples help lower the blood pressure and prevent stroke.
Watermelon contains lycopene which helps in fighting cancer and increases immunity.
Dates contain pantothenic acid and phosphorus which strengthens hair.
Bananas.... These are rich in potassium which help in preventing tiredness and reduced muscles cramp.
